Step Inside

Preparing for Your Appointment

We’re thrilled that you’ve chosen Posh Permanent Makeup Experience to help enhance your natural beauty! To ensure you get the best results from your procedure, we ask that you carefully review our care instructions before your appointment. Proper preparation will help extend the longevity of your permanent makeup and ensure it heals beautifully.

Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid certain pain relievers:
Do not take Advil, Aspirin, or other over-the-counter pain relievers for three days before your appointment. Tylenol is okay to use.
  • No alcohol:
Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment to prevent excess bleeding and sensitivity.
  • Menstrual cycle sensitivity:
Keep in mind that if you’re on your menstrual cycle, you may experience heightened sensitivity during the treatment.
  • Pre-appointment grooming:
    • You may have your eyebrows waxed up to two days prior to the appointment.
    • Brow tinting can be done up to one week before your appointment.
  • Avoid Botox, fillers, and certain skin products:
Refrain from using Botox, fillers, AHA products, or retinoids for 3-4 weeks before your procedure to ensure optimal results.
  • No advanced skin treatments:
Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and other skin resurfacing procedures for six weeks before your appointment to protect the integrity of your skin.
  • Sun and tanning bed exposure:
Tanning beds, sun exposure, and pools can affect pigmentation retention and skin health during and after your service. Avoid sun exposure for four weeks before and after your appointment to ensure the best results.
  • Brow growth serums:
If you’re using Latisse or other brow growth serums, discontinue use for two weeks prior to your procedure, as they may interfere with pigment retention or increase sensitivity

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Proper post-care is essential to the longevity and appearance of your new brows. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure the best results.

Do not allow any lotion, soap, or makeup to touch your brows during the first 14 days after your procedure.

For the first 8 hours, use a damp cotton round to gently pat the treated area every 30 minutes to absorb any excess lymph.

Day 1 -7: In the morning and at night, gently cleanse your brows with water and soap. Allow them to air dry or blot dry gently with a clean towel. Apply a rice grain size amount of ointment is enough for both brows.

For the next 14 days, avoid the following:

  • Excessive sweating
  • Physical exercise or sports
  • Swimming
  • Hot saunas, baths, or Jacuzzis
  • Sun tanning or salon tanning
  • UV/UVA rays or chemicals, which can cause color shifting and premature fading
  • Laser treatments, chemical peels, or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck
  • Picking, peeling, or scratching the treated area to prevent scarring and pigment loss
  • Heavy household cleaning that may expose you to airborne debris (e.g., cleaning basements or garages)
  • Excessive alcohol consumption, as it may slow down the healing process
  • Driving in open-air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
  • Touching the eyebrow area, except when rinsing or applying post-care cream with a cotton swab

Additional Tips:

  • Wash your face carefully, avoiding the brow area. When showering, either keep your face away from the water or opt for a bath.
  • Itching and flaking may occur during the first seven days. However, with proper aftercare, these symptoms will typically resolve quickly.

What to Expect After Your Microblading Session

The entire healing process will take approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on your body’s natural regeneration and age. During this period, your new eyebrows will go through several phases:

  • Immediately after the procedure, the pigment will appear natural, but you will notice the color darken by the following day.
  • During the healing process, your skin will naturally regenerate. After the initial recovery phase (peeling), your brows may appear lighter than expected. This is normal and might give the impression of fading. However, even with proper care, some hair strokes may initially be lost, causing an uneven appearance. This can be addressed during your follow-up touch-up appointment.
  • As the skin heals, dandruff-like flakes or dry skin may form. This is part of the natural healing process and is the superficial pigment and skin being removed. The final look of your brows will become more apparent after about 30 days.
  • Never rub the treated area during the healing period, as it can disrupt the skin’s natural recovery.
  • Once fully healed, be sure to apply sunscreen (SPF 30-50) to your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure can cause the pigment to fade prematurely.
  • When applying foundation after healing, take care to avoid your eyebrows, as foundation covering them may cause the pigment to appear lighter.
